FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
From appointments to treatment processes, we have compiled the questions our patients ask most, along with their answers.
How can I make an appointment?
The most practical way is our WhatsApp line: message 0533 493 93 41 and we'll set a day and time that suits you. You can also call the same number to make an appointment.
What should I bring to my appointment?
If you have previous imaging such as X-rays, MRI, or CT scans, along with any reports, be sure to bring them. A list of your current medications and information about any chronic conditions will also speed up the evaluation.
What happens during the first examination?
First, the history of your complaints is taken in detail; when the pain started, how it has progressed, and how it affects you all matter. A physical examination follows, and imaging studies are ordered if needed. Once the diagnosis is clear, all treatment options are discussed with you openly.
Does every orthopedic problem require surgery?
No. A significant proportion of orthopedic complaints can be treated without surgery through exercise, physical therapy, medication, injections, and lifestyle adjustments. Surgery is planned only when truly necessary, and the decision is made together with you.
What is arthroscopic (closed) surgery, and what are its advantages?
Arthroscopy allows the inside of a joint to be visualized with a camera through half-centimeter incisions and treated in the same session. Compared with open surgery, it means less pain, a lower risk of infection, and a much faster recovery; most patients go home the same day.
Who is a candidate for stem cell and PRP therapy?
They are considered mainly for early- to mid-stage osteoarthritis, limited cartilage damage, and chronic tendon problems. Their effectiveness in advanced osteoarthritis is limited, which is why the decision is made after examination and imaging.
When can I walk / return to work after surgery?
It depends on the procedure: after simple arthroscopic procedures, patients usually walk the same day and return to desk work within 1-2 weeks. After procedures such as ligament reconstruction and fracture surgery, recovery is gradual and planned according to the rehabilitation program.
When can I return to sports after my injury?
The decision is based on testing, not time: return to sport is not recommended until muscle strength, balance, and functional measurements approach pre-injury levels. Returning too early is the most common cause of re-injury.
Where do you see patients?
I have been seeing patients at Sana Tıp Merkezi since 2025. For appointments and directions, you can contact our WhatsApp line.
Can I be examined without imaging (MRI, X-ray)?
Of course. The examination is always the foundation of diagnosis; if imaging is needed, it is ordered after the examination. Bringing any previous studies you have will speed things up, but they are not a prerequisite.
Do you treat fractures and orthopedic problems in children?
Trauma and fractures are within my scope for all age groups. Pediatric fractures involve special considerations related to the growth plate; after evaluation, a referral to a pediatric orthopedics subspecialist is made if necessary.
Can I get information about treatment fees?
Fees vary depending on the examination, tests, and the planned treatment. For current information, you can contact our WhatsApp line or ask during your visit.
